Restructuring

Many corporations, big and small, are or will be confronted with extremely difficult economic conditions due to the current global crisis.

In order to assist our clients in these difficult times we have set up a Restructuring Team to focus, in particular, on the renegotiation of all sorts of contracts be it with suppliers, service providers, clients or with credit providers and banks.

The Restructuring Team groups together lawyers (quite a few of them authorities in Switzerland in the relevant areas of law) who have a particular expertise in, and experience with, the issues arising out of material adverse changes under contract, tax and employment laws, as well as bankruptcy law.

To enhance our lawyers' ability to combine legal and economic considerations, we are also drawing on our working relationships with economists, accountants and other specialists and with experts in strategic management issues who will assist us in the reorganization of our clients' affairs.

Our tax department is obviously an important resource for this new department since none of the restructuring will be done without affecting, in one way or the other, the tax situation of the clients concerned.
